Grotto pizzeria is the historic pizzeria of the Rumolo family, located in the historic center of Caggiano, at the foot of its beautiful Castle.

Since 1983, the year of its opening, the wood-burning oven of the Grotto Pizzeria has baked thousands of pizzas and delighted thousands of palates.

Here the pizza maker Angelo Rumolo was trained from a very young age. Starting from the workbench of Grotto Pizzeria, passing through the victory at the World Championship in 2014 and the subsequent entry into Gabriele Bonci’s Agricultural Brigade, Angelo Rumolo has developed over the years a maniacal research for rustic flavors and a strong propensity for experimentation that is grafted into tradition.

Today the gastronomic offer of Grotto Pizzeria has pizza by the slice as its protagonist, crunchy outside and soft inside, stuffed with cured meats, cheese and the first fruits of the season, in a continuous exploratory search for bold flavors that complement more traditional tastes.
All this has led the Grotto Castello pizzeria to position itself in 12th place in the ranking of the best pizza by the slice drawn up by 50 TOP PIZZA in 2022.
