Le Grotticelle restaurant reflects the cultural and culinary heritage that the Rumolo family has inherited, where respect for the natural environment, enhancement of the territory, self-production of raw materials and authenticity of food are not only professed values but constitute the common thread of the entire culinary experience aimed at rediscovering the peasant flavors of the past, in order to evoke sincere emotions with every bite.
Tradition finds space in our menu, which traces the history of this territory through food. Dishes such as lagane pasta with chickpeas, pasta with zammedda sauce and the ancient Pasticcio Caggianese savory pie bring to mind a time when splendor and riches were also shown at tables, with delicacies that were a casket of flavors. Those delicacies are still prepared today as they were then, to release all their evocative power on the palate.
Inside Le Grotticelle there is also a cellar with many Italian and non-Italian labels, a room for the maturation of local caciocavallo cheese and a pit for the maturation of Caggiano pecorino cheese, which is aged in the hay covered by wild mountain herbs.

Le Grotticelle is a paradise of taste and tranquility, nature and relaxation, a place that bears the marks of the long and hard work that has always distinguished the life of the entire Rumolo family.
Le Grotticelle pizzeria has been awarded numerous prizes, among which we mention the 3 Spicchi Gambero Rosso – the highest recognition given by the Guide of Pizzerie of Italy – and the 3 Hats by the Espresso Guide, which included it in the Guide to Restaurants and Wines of Italy.
Furthermore, in 2023 the Le Grotticelle pizzeria was ranked 12th in the prestigious 50 TOP PIZZA ITALIA competition and 24th in the 50 TOP PIZZA WORLD international competition.
Angelo Rumolo makes a rural pizza that is characterized by the use of sourdough and ingredients of absolute excellence, mainly self-produced in the high-altitude vegetable garden and in the family farm La Carlina.
The mountain and its riches are enhanced through the use of wild herbs, tubers, flowers, truffles, mushrooms and dried fruit, raw materials that are harvested on the mountains of Caggiano and which, through a skilful balance of combinations, lead to the discovery of a surprising pizza never eaten before.

Le Grotticelle is not only a castle devoted to the pleasure of the table, but also a mansion where time seems to have stopped.
Le Grotticelle Country House is waiting for you to let you experience a stay of pure relaxation, disconnected from the noise of the city and regenerated by the nature of the green valley.
From the marble interiors to the solid wood furniture, from the olive wood parquet to the hand-inlaid doors: everything in our Country House has been handcrafted by Vittorio, who has always nurtured a strong passion for sculpture and carpentry works.
The Country House Le Grotticelle offers its guests 2 apartments and 7 bedrooms, divided into double and triple rooms.
All our rooms are spacious and welcoming, equipped with every comfort and furnished in a country chic style that will make you feel welcomed and pampered.
On waking up every morning you will find a rich homemade breakfast both savory and sweet waiting for you, with many delicacies which reflects the local tradition: selection of homemade salami and cured meats, organic eggs, bread with ancient wheats, tarts with homemade jams, fresh fruit, pizza dolce cake and many other delicacies that will introduce you to the authentic taste of Caggianese hospitality.
